Broomball this season will look a lot different as a result of Covid-19 protocols but we have the authorization from the CPHO and Protect NWT to play modified league games

Game Nights- Entering and Exiting Facility
- Participants arrive at the facility wearing masks and be fully dressed to play for their scheduled game with exception of shoes and helmets.
- Participants must maintain social distancing of 2 meters and wear a mask
- Every participant including Officials must complete a Covid 19 Waiver - anyone not signing a waiver will be asked to leave the facility and not permitted to play
- Every participant including Officials must complete the Daily Covid 19 Attestation - this must be done by every participant before every game - anyone that does not comply will be asked to immediately leave.
- There will only be 15 minutes to complete the above-required sign in.
- Participants arriving late will not be permitted to enter the facility. No spectators are permitted in the facility at this time.
- Participants will follow all City posted directional instructions in the facility and immediately head to their designated area to put on shoes and helmet. No congregating or socializing in the lobby and hallways.
- Once completely dressed the participants will head onto the ice surface for the game.
- When the game is over participants will change into their street shoes, put their masks on and leave the facility as quickly as possible following all posted facility directional instructions.
- There will be no socializing or hanging out in the facility after the game.
- Every participant must vacate the premises within 15 minutes to permit the City employees to complete their cleaning protocols for the next user group.
League Game Changes
- Games will be 30 minutes - 2 - 15 minute run time periods
- No Timekeepers and only one Referee to keep costs down for the season
- Teams will have a maximum of 9 players aside in the facility for a game
- No changing of ends
- No faceoffs - game restarts will be done another way
- No players entering the Goalie Creases
- No high fives, hugs, huddles
- No penalties will be served in penalty boxes - Instead a Penalty Shot will be award
- Intentional Body Contact: any intentional contact that results from a player not playing the ball with their stick will result in a body contact infraction being issued with 2 penalty shots for the non-offending team.
- Participants must maintain social distancing on the ice and on the player benches
- There will be no sharing of equipment, water bottles, food, and no handling of the game balls or spitting on the ice.
